Man U v Chelsea: Moyes banks on RVP
Manchester United manager David Moyes
has hailed the talents of Robin van Persie
ahead of today’s big showdown with
Chelsea.
Moyes says he has been very impressed with
the 30-year-old striker since he took over at
Old Trafford in the summer and will hope he
continues where he left off last weekend
when his side host Jose Mourinho’s Blues in
the big clash. The Dutch striker scored two
in the opening-weekend win at Swansea
and appears to be in the same sort of form
that saw him finish as the Premier League’s
top goalscorer last season.
“Robin’s movement and his understanding
of the game with his hold-up play and
movement in the box is sensational. It really
is top-notch. “There are some things I don’t
even know if you can coach, nearly
instinctive things that you pick up if you’re a
top player.”
United will be bidding to build on the van
Persie-inspired 4-1 victory at the Liberty
Stadium but are set to face one of their title
rivals in Chelsea, who have begun with two
wins out of two, beating Hull City and Aston
Villa at Stamford Bridge in the opening
week.
